​I am a veteran North Carolina educator with more than 30 years of experience across the grade levels K-12. I was in the classroom for 20+ years and spent additional years as a literacy coach for individual schools, lead ELA teacher for feeder area K-12 schools, and a district ELA Curriculum Specialist and Supervisor K-8.

Currently with my company, STRATEGIES UNLIMITED, INC,  I am working with many individual schools and school districts in North Carolina, Maryland, Oklahoma, Indiana, Nebraska, California, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas. My goal is to provide layered coaching and planning support while sharing and modeling instructional best practices for developing successful COLLEGE and CAREER READY students in classrooms. Quite often along with my colleague and fellow educator, Sandy McNeely, we strive to provide high quality grade level and vertical level planning sessions with teachers and instructional leaders. Upon request, I will also provide "Make It- Take It" sessions with teachers so teachers can walk away ready to use their "literacy tools" and strategies and resources with students immediately. One of my favorite goals is always for my workshop participants to "LEARN TODAY and USE it TOMORROW"!!!
